Meet our first participants

The Face of No Make-Up is here and it looks like this! Meet Kath, age 40, at left, and Jenn, 33, right. And welcome Betsy, 54, and her daughter Nomi, 19, below.

I see no reason to gild these lilies, do you? Now c'mon...let's see some faces of color, high school girls, women in their 60s,70s,80s...? and more!

*If the text layout looks strange, I've been experimenting with it for hours. Anyone have a good tip on controlling the wraparound function in Blogger and getting rid of some of that white space between this post and the previous one?

Welcome to The Face of No Make-Up!

In a post on women's environmental health October 15 on the group blog WIMN's Voices, I call on women to show themselves without make-up to get the public used to seeing unembellished female faces in the mass media. I'm starting with myself. This is yours truly on a hike in Maine this past summer, tired but exhilarated.

Next, take a look at British TV personality Sara Beeny, host of a recent documentary called "Beauty Addicts: How Toxic Are You?"

Doesn't she look great?

So: Let's see yours! This site is seeking photos of women of all ages, races, and nationalities showing their natural faces. Send a digital photo with your first name (last name, too, if desired) and age at time of photo to: mirandasp@comcast.net. Subject line: The Face of No Make-Up.

Show the world that make-up is optional and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
